What a glorious winters day, we spent the day cutting back two trees that were too close to the house.

We can't have trees too close to the guttering because we are on tank water and have a terrible time keeping leaves out of them.

I've taken a couple of photos one with our grandaughter sitting under them and then one with them cut down, its going to take me a while to get used to them not being there, plus the grandchildren wont be happy they can't sit under them in the summer. The trees were the canopy for the fairy garden.

I will plant other shrubs as soon as I decide what will only grow about 1 metre tall.

Inspiration at your finger tips, that's what I love about the internet.

Just when you think you've seen everything someone posts something new and interesting that you can either make or do. Take these lamps for instance, they were plain ordinary shades but with some fabric, buttons and some help from other bloggers out there they are now different which makes them more appealing and a talking point.

There is no excuse for being bored, even sit down and post a new blog, try a new craft, go out and add something quirky to the garden, endless receipts to try.
I believe we are a very fortunate generation so lets make the most of it.

I just love my donkey's tail what a great succulent!

Princess lillies starting to poke their noses through, can't wait til they flower. They seem happy in this pot.

Winter is really making its presence known here today the wind is blowing and it's very cold out so i'll be spending the day inside.
A good day to spend blogging, so I have posted some garden photos and also a couple of my lamps i've been embelishing, I really like the way they turned out, hope you agree.

These are a few photos of our market stall, we were pleased with the day and are looking forward to the next one.

We have also reinvented a couple of lamps by embelishing the shades for our next market I hope they go well, I'l post some pictures when I have them.

I think it's fair to say we have caught the market stall bug!

A few random photo's of the garden, oh also one of our dog Toby scratching his back on my standard gardenia, its nice to know that the plants aren't just pretty but also useful for reaching those hard to reach places 'hehehe'. Carol
First time jitters, this weekend will be my daughter and my very first market stall. We have both been busy making, painting, glueing, drilling and gathering all we can to try make it a success, but from what we have been told you can't forsee what the day will be like.
Weather will play a big part, so here's hoping the sun shines for us. I'll take some photo's and post them next week. Until then , Carol

Sunset, protea and bromiliads

Late afternoon in autumn what a lovely time to enjoy the garden. Sitting outside with a cup of coffee watching the sun go down behind the trees, can't think of any place I would rather be.
The garden has the ability to give me such contentment that is hard to find.

Don't you just love this time of year!

The mornings are crisp, there's dew on the ground and the trees just beginning to show the first signs of autumn. It won't be long before many of the trees are bare, it's wonderful following the changing seasons by watching what is happening in the garden.

Just a few photos of the crafts my daughter and I have been making. A couple of picture we painted and a memory board, there is a few more crafts we dabble in I'll post pictures when I have them.
Added a couple of garden photos as well. bye for now carol.
Hi I don't know how but with every new post I seem to make a mistake, last time I somehow ended up with two lots of the same photos. Oh well it will remain a mistery unless someone out there can tell me how to delete some of the pictures.

SSHHH! The fairies are out, so I have quickly taken some pictures. My grandchildren spend a lot of their time in the fairy garden, Their imaginations just run wild, its nice to see that they can go outside and be entertained for hours by the simple things in life. For instance they spent a day playing with tadpoles in containers and butterfly cocoons the other day. It makes all the hard work in the garden worth it I'am sure they would agree.

This terracotta possum hangs under our awning, just helps to add a little qirkiness to the place!
That's Easter over for another year. A lovely time was had by all especially the grandchildren, I think they're just happy to get together and play, and the weather was perfect, unusual it generally rains.
A few snaps of the garden before the cold weather

Our hot hot summers have taken its toll on my chandalier, its under our back awning and the candles are all melting and starting to drop off the top, in fact a couple of them have now blobbed down onto the table that sit underneath, but it somehow adds character and a talking point.
This is a lovely spot to sit and have our tea on a cool evening

MY FOUR SEASONS MOSAIC PAVERS I DID A WHILE AGO {MINUS ONE- WINTER-STILL BEING MADE} THEY LOOK REALLY NICE LEADING THE WAY UP THE GARDEN PATH.

WE'RE LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE A VERANDAH RIGHT AROUND OUR HOUSE SO THERE ARE MANY DIFFERENT AREAS FOR SITTING OUT OF THE SUN AND JUST ENJOYING THE SUROUNDING GARDENS.

I BOUGHT THIS FIRE MANTLE PIECE FOR MY BACK VERANDAH AND BECAUSE I DO MOSAIC I DECIDED TO PUT A FAKE FIRE IN IT. I WAS SO HAPPY WITH THE WAY IT TURNED OUT.
ONCE I HAD DONE THAT I THOUGHT TO PUT A COUPLE OF CHAIRS BESIDE IT AND MAKE IT LIKE AN OUTDOOR SITTING ROOM. MUST ADMIT WE SIT OUT THERE A LOT, ITS VERY RELAXING.

Beginning of another week! How fast is this year going? Too fast I say.
Plenty to catch up on in the garden now that the weather is starting to cool down.
I find summer is way too hot to do much outside except for very late afternoon.
That makes autumn a very busy season.
